About Us

A note from the founder of Edtrainit.

Edtrainit is an education technology company in Scotland. We build learning software around one idea: understanding how a student learns matters as much as knowing what they got wrong.

After more than a decade teaching in UK higher education, one question always followed me out of the classroom — who was still confused, and about which part? I could see the answers. Working out what they meant took hours, while a learner could put in more effort and still repeat the same mistake.

That is the gap our team of educators, doctors and scientists now builds for. Medtrainit IMAT is for students preparing for English-taught medicine in Italy; Edtrainit Core is in development for school science. Different learners, the same question: what does this person need to understand next?

What does edtrainit do?

edtrainit (Edtrainit Ltd) develops error-diagnostics platforms for medical and academic entrance examinations. The platforms identify the specific reasoning behind a wrong answer and respond with targeted, structured correction — rather than reproducing the marking scheme.

What products are in the family?

Three platforms, built in sequence on a single method. Medtrainit IMAT is available now at medtrainit.com. Edtrainit Core and Citizenready are arriving in 2027. Each product is built specifically for its purpose — not adapted from a generic template.

Who builds and reviews the content?

Subject experts who are medical graduates, currently practising as GPs, surgeons, clinical scientists, and educators across the United Kingdom and Europe. Every wrong-answer explanation is authored or reviewed by a domain expert before a candidate sees it.

How can institutions and consultancies partner with us?

My child is already in a coaching centre. Why also medtrainit?

Coaching teaches the syllabus. Question banks give practice. But neither one shows your child why they keep picking the same wrong answers. medtrainit does. It runs alongside coaching — not instead of it.

How is this different from a question bank?

A question bank shows the right answer and gives more practice questions. medtrainit explains why your child picked the wrong one — then gives them the same idea in many different questions and scenarios. It is practice that keeps revisiting a concept until the learner is answering it confidently, not just learning one question pattern.

Who writes the feedback?

The medtrainit method was designed by an educator and a medical doctor who sat the IMAT. Every wrong-answer explanation is reviewed by a medical doctor who sat the IMAT and practises in the UK or Italy. Physics content is additionally reviewed by a PhD physicist.

Does this replace textbooks or past papers?

No. Textbooks teach the subject. Past papers train speed. medtrainit fixes the gap that costs the most marks.
